Description
The TLISS00233 Heavy Vehicle Driver Training Skill Set provides the skills and knowledge required for trainers delivering instruction to learners in heavy vehicles. It is designed for existing driver trainers who already hold the TLI41222 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training (or an equivalent qualification) and wish to extend their career into the heavy vehicle driving discipline.

This Skill Set forms part of the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.
Depending on individual state and territory requirements, this Skill Set may be required in addition to the TLI41222 qualification to gain authorisation to train heavy vehicle drivers.
Entry Requirements
Before commencing this Skill Set, individuals must hold:
- TLI41222 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training, or an equivalent earlier qualification, and
- A current, unrestricted heavy vehicle driver licence (relevant to the class of training they intend to deliver).

- TLIM0018 – Develop low risk heavy vehicle driving behaviours in others
Target Group
This Skill Set is intended for:
- Trainers who already hold the TLI41222 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training,
- Whose existing specialisation is other than heavy vehicle,
- And who wish to gain the required competencies to train learner drivers in heavy vehicles (LR, MR, HR, HC, MC — depending on jurisdiction).
